The rundown for the Squad Now
So, after much trial and error, workload and other things that happened we have made it through second phase of the Group Project and as things stand it is all full steam ahead into the second phase of the Project and it seems that we have all made it in one piece (well that is up for debate in certain areas).
So, to give a quick refresher on what exactly we are doing for our group project we were creating a graphic Novel based on a sub theme of the word Dream which is about the perspective of two students named Harry and Katie (I believe) and it shows of how they can look at the workload of college and how it can overwhelm them and they can solve that problem. Over the course of the first Phase we crafted out the story and got some of the pages drawn out. it was originally going to be in many different styles of animation but due to reasonable circumstances we resorted to one style in Particular so that we have a completed project and that it wouldn't bring us to the breaking point of overwhelming stress. After a long Christmas "Break" (I put that in emphasis as I did not have a day off during that whole break due to work and other reasons so I am still very tired and low energy a lot) we have come back to tackle phase 2 head on and with that comes new responsibilities especially for myself as I have to lead this group to glory. But don't worry we have a plan all laid out and it looks like this:
1. Of course we still are all contributing to the blogs of course and we have all decided to at least try and make 2 blogs a week or at least have a blog done a week so we are on top of things. Things seem to be moving forward well with that as it is so that seems to be a success.
2.For the Actual Graphic Novel design and content, Dillion had the time over the break to get the pages all sketched out from following the script write out from Nathan H and I think he has done an excellent job with them indeed so we are on top of things in that department.
3. So I have thrown my hat in the ring to take charge of the graphic Novel's Cover and some poster design for our actual Graphic Novel. When I find the time in my ever so busy schedule I will do some Concepts for the cover and poster and that will hopefully be done before the deadline.
4. We got ourselves a Group Photo for our team and that will go into the back of the Graphic Novel (we are expanding the Graphic Novel to make it look like a classic Comic book of the golden days to make it look more bulky then it will be) so people can know the team that created this project. This will be given the cartoon treatment as it is with the other parts to our project piece
5. In terms of bringing colour to the Graphic Novel that role has been given to myself and Nathan H and we will colouring it through 2 different methods. Nathan H will be doing it through the use of illustrator and I will be doing the colour through the use of Photoshop or similar apps to it that will work just as fine. So far we have 2 of the 11 pages sorted out, all we need is to receive the rest of the pages from Dillon so we can get more of them done.
6. It isn't just going to be just a physical graphic Novel we will be making as we had decided to do two other things to add to the whole ordeal and one of them is a simple website. This responsibility will be handed to Adam and Nathan E who will be doing up a small 3-4 page website that will be discussing our group, showing our comic, a video version of it and sort of a behind the scenes page (finalised layout to be given) and they will go through and work on all the wireframes, sitemaps, the content for each page and make some prototypes of Adobe XD but it seems to be going well from the looks of things so hopefully everything works together in the end.
7. Nathan H has gone ahead and set up a group for us on Slack so we can discuss some stuff on there about the project if there is areas that need to be fixed. I will discuss with the team over the next week to maybe add the supervisors for our team so if we need help we have some helpful advice to certain areas which could be useful in the long run.
8. The other part we are adding to our project is a video version that will start out as a live action segment and then it will transition into a panel by panel narration of the story overlay. For this Live action segment Dillon has drafted out a quick storyboard for this segment and has sourced out a bit of copyrighted free music to be placed over this scene. We plan to have it all filmed out over the course of the next week after which we have discussed it with the group and Dillon will sort out the Narrator and voice over for the characters. For the Audio part we will be using the likes of the Zoom H1 Audio recorder to do the voice recorder which we can borrow from the college or I know of where to get one myself at a good price but we'll see where that goes and we will hopefully record it in the studio in the college and edit it into the video with added effects so Everything will hopefully work out.
9. For the Sketches for the book Dillon has gone ahead and scanned the piece onto the computer so we can access them and easily get them painted and all sorted out so we are on top of that.
10. Lastly Nathan E has gone ahead and created a Timetable for this group so we are on top of things to have done for every week and the time when the items for our project are due and it all seems to be working out as it is.
So that is all we have planned out and have been working on over the last few days and we know that we have a deadline for the finalised version being the 10th/11th of March (Which is what I love to have to be due on my Birthday) and once that is done we have to sort presenting it to our supervisors, our fellow second years and to the current First years of Creative Digital Media to give them Ideas for their future group project which will be 2 weeks after the finalised deadline and then after this we have till the week we come back from the easter "break" (the word "break" is a rare word to me) when we have to deliver our finalised version of our Group Project Book. It may seem like a lot to take in but at the rate that we are going with our Project and everyone being assigned to particular sections, we could have every section done in half the time. Here's to the team and to everything being done on time.
