Update on our progression

Update

Hey guys so I just thought Id write a blog to update what we have done and what we dont just to add to the blogger blogs and slack.

Overall I feel that we are coming along great the last few weeks both in progression as a group and should definitely have some great material to produce on the presentation day and final group submission.

recently Finished items

We have all of our comic pages sketched out, designed and made up in illustrator by Sam and Dillon ( with some additional help from Nathan Harte after he finished working on the script).

Adam and Nathan Ellis are currently working on the website for the presentation day and final submission .( Dillon has also give all digital imagery to Adam last week in order to add some more interesting visuals to the site to catch the viewers eye when visiting the website for the digital version of our comic.

Dillon also filmed a short video intro starring Sam that can be use to introduce the comic to the audience both at the presentation and on the website itself as a video option. although it still needs to be edited more by Sam and Nathan using premier pro we at least have the into and soundtrack added. Now we only need to add the comic imagery for the story and the narrative for it recorded by our narrators.

Dillon also got in contact with someone from a separate college to do the narrative for the story overall, however we still need to find voices for both the female and male in the story.

Dillon has also created a small folder to present our progression t the lecturers and other attendees on the presentation day , as well as to help archive all of our design work, sketches, character and story development, artwork , website progression, film progression and film editing , as well as the team members in the project overall.

To do still

There is still a few things to be done for the big day which include the following things.

Adding the images into the video for editing with narration and voice work (Sam Harrison and Nathan Harte)

Finish editing the website with videos imagery and information ( Adam Fleming and Nathan Ellis)

Finish getting narration and voice work for video done ( Sam and Dillon)

Edit the stuff in fr the comic pages in Canva before getting it published at reeds in town (Nathan Harte)

Do pages for advertisement for website page in comic and narrators for video page/link for Vimeo (Dillon)

make unique slide for us on presentation day on Canva (group-work)

Get presentation on big screen/ test acoustics of video in room before presentation day (group-work)

Practice as a group ahead of time for our presentation (group-work)

weekly progress weeks 3 and 4

Well hello again to everyone far and wide to another weekly update on how our team has been going so let me break it down to as such:

Timetable:
We have reworked the timetable to establish a better work schedule that is divided out to everyone to help get a clear perspective on what the whole situation is for everyone. We have a clear deadline for the Graphic Novel, website and the little video for the 10th of March but we have clear goals for everything else with the colouring of the pages due by the end of week 5 (Feb 29th or March 1st), the website by the end of week 6 as well as the video for the opening of the narrated comic (6-8th of March) and then finish it all together by the day before.

Graphic Novel:
We have a total of 11 pages to colourise and add text to by the end of week 5. The colouring of the pages are completed all that remains is for some of the text to be added to the remaining pages but everything is on track

Website:
For the site, Adam and Nathan E have been working to get a structured sutemap and website sorted out and so far it all looks good. All that remains is for them to add the images and the video to the site to access it all together

Video:
So myself and Dillion have recorded a live action version of a prologue to the whole comic that will transition into the comic and Narration. All that remains is to edit it all together to music and then get the voices together to record over the video but it should be simple to sort out.

Doc:
This part will come after the whole deadline where we will have a short one on one interview from all of us where we will discuss what parts of the group project that we were heavily involved with and how easy or challenging the whole process will be. This could be the aspect that will be brought together for the presentation day but we can discuss that in another group meeting

All in all I think we are on track with everything as it is and we should have it all done by the time the deadline rolls around. So until next time

Cheerio!!!

Progression of website

Progression of our website

For our project we decided to create a website to host and display our final piece. For this little assignment we allocated myself (Adam Fleming) and Nathan Ellis to get it done. You can see the current state of the website above. We started off by creating the base of any website. The index page as well as the folders for the images and style sheets.

After some feedback from our supervisor we realised that we were missing a vital piece of the foundation for our website, the sitemap and wireframes, so I created some rough sketch versions of a sitemap and wireframes for each individual page of the website (11 in total). While these sketches do serve their purpose we're looking to make some revamped versions using adobe illustrator to make them more presentable for our final presentation.

We ran into a few small problems regarding divs and our nav bar but we got them resolved. At this point we're just looking to fix some small decorative issues like font type, text decoration and overall colour. When we get that done we'll divide the wireframes between each other and add in the bulk of the html content, at which point the site should be for the most part complete.

Digital Breakthrough

For our group assignments on Inspiration We started Our Project with the theme of Identity. From this our group knew we wanted to Base our group assignment on the struggles of college as it is something each student and their Identity goes through and that each person in this group has struggled with personally.
We then chose the Sub theme of Dreams as we found that each student going through college often goes into college identifying what they want to do with their life and in trying to follow their dreams/ aspirations in the process.
So please enjoy reading Sketch Squads Graphic Novel about a guy named Harry trying to adapt to college and in the process learning through the help of his friend Katie that

“A little Help
      Goes
  Long Way “

Another bit of good news I have been in contact with someone outside college to come in and narrate the novel in the video format for the presentation . I am hoping to record Tuesday week and to be able to book the sound room and some recording equipment for it.
